AML & KYC Policy

Anti-Money Laundering & Know Your Customer Policy — Last updated: April 11, 2026

1. Overview

Stake Win is committed to preventing its platform from being used for money laundering, terrorist financing, or any other financial crime. This policy outlines our obligations and procedures under Ghana's Anti-Money Laundering Act (Act 749) and related regulations.

2. Know Your Customer (KYC)

We are required to verify the identity of all users before processing withdrawals above GHS 1,000 or upon request by our compliance team. KYC verification may require:

  • Government-issued photo ID: National ID card, passport, or driver's licence.
  • Proof of address: Utility bill or bank statement not older than 3 months.
  • Proof of payment method: Mobile Money account confirmation matching the registered phone number.
  • Source of funds: For large transactions, documentation of the origin of funds may be required.

Documents should be clear, unedited, and in a valid format (JPEG, PNG, or PDF). Accounts that fail to complete KYC within 7 days of request may have withdrawals suspended.

3. Monitoring & Suspicious Activity

We continuously monitor transactions for suspicious patterns, including but not limited to:

  • Structuring deposits to avoid reporting thresholds.
  • Rapid deposit-and-withdrawal cycles with minimal betting activity.
  • Transactions inconsistent with a user's stated income or profile.
  • Use of multiple payment methods linked to different identities.

Any suspicious activity will be reported to the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) of Ghana as required by law.

4. Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs)

Users identified as Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) or closely associated with PEPs are subject to enhanced due diligence. We may request additional documentation and apply enhanced monitoring to PEP accounts.

5. Transaction Limits

  • Daily deposit limit: GHS 50,000 (higher limits require enhanced KYC).
  • Single withdrawal limit: GHS 20,000 (higher amounts require source of funds documentation).
  • Monthly aggregate transactions above GHS 100,000 trigger enhanced review.

6. Record Keeping

We retain all KYC documents, transaction records, and suspicious activity reports for a minimum of 7 years in compliance with Ghanaian law and the requirements of our payment processing partners.

7. Non-Compliance

Accounts found to be engaged in money laundering, fraud, or any financial crime will be immediately suspended. All funds held in such accounts may be frozen and reported to the appropriate authorities. We cooperate fully with law enforcement and regulatory bodies in Ghana and internationally.
